Friday, January 12, 2007 Lenovo offers PCs, laptops for Asean summit delegates
LENOVO has been tapped as one of the technology partners for the 12th Asean summit this week.
Lenovo will provide 30 desktops and 10 notebook computers for use by delegates, guests and media during the summit and enable them to stay connected with work, friends and family.
“We are proud to be chosen as one of the technology partners of the Asean (Assosication of Southeast Asian Nations) summit,” said Vicky Agorrilla, country general manager of Lenovo Philippines. “It gives us a chance to showcase our products and services to the high-profile attendees and media from all over the world.”
“The Asean summit is about collaboration, cooperation, overall excellence, trustworthiness and goodwill, all things Lenovo strives to achieve,” she said.
Summit participants as well as foreign and local media covering the summit can use the International Media Center at the CICC, which will have Lenovo computers available for them to use and get connected to the Internet during the Summit.
Internet access
Meanwhile, Philippine Long Distance and Telephone Co. (PLDT) and Smart Communications announced that media covering the Asean summit can use free broadband Internet access in designated spots until Monday.
Internet access are available at the Smart Visayas office in Mabolo, Cebu City; PLDT Group booth at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC); at the domestic pre-departure lounge in the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA); Most Important Persons Lounge (MCIA); and at the Smart BRoOM (SmartBro on Mobile) Internet van, located near the Uniwide warehouse in front of the CICC.
