By Mel Libre

BRUNEI is ruled by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. Blessed is the country without politicians?

Burma has Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. Its current government must really be treasuring her so much that soldiers are always guarding her.

Cambodia was known before as the Killing Fields. It has long hidden the skeletons in its closet.

A Portuguese explorer named Ferdinand Magellan visited Indonesia in 1506.

Had the Spanish monarch at that time been the one who financed the voyage, Magellan would have named Indonesia after King Philip---and we would not have been called Filipinos today though we will still have the same problems anyway.

Laos was once called the Land of the Million Elephants. Only a few elephants are left, the rest are kept in the trunk as ivory treasures.

Malaysia promotes itself as Truly Asia. What does that make the rest of the other Asian countries?

Singapore has as its tourism slogan “Uniquely Singapore.” No doubt, its brand of discipline is unique.

Thailand had its democratically elected prime minister ousted last year by the military. A coup is acceptable so long as the king remains in power.

The Philippines is a country that suffers from many calamities. Mostly caused by politicians.

Vietnam is a socialist country. Hooray to $ocialism!
