ONE may catch the ongoing 8th Sinulog Export Overruns and Consumer Bazaar until the Jan.22 at the Cebu Trade Hall of SM City Cebu.
This yearly event gathers some of the best indigenous finds from all over the country, including delicate embroideries from Laguna, carvings from Baguio, wood crafts from Palawan, bamboo products from Southern Leyte, dried flowers from Saranggani Province, and furnitures from Cebu.
With such exciting merchandise mix every year, the bazaar has become one of Sinulog’s must-see attractions, constantly drawing a growing number of Sinulog crowd who flock to Cebu both to experience the country’s biggest mardi gras and all-out festive shopping.
”We are committed to bringing to Cebu every Sinulog the best of the regions, not only to promote Filipino products, but to add a different character and shopping experience to the Sinulog festivity as well,” said L.A. Ducut and Company, Inc. managing director Lilibeth D. Abais.
And the 8th Sinulog Export Overruns will not disappoint shoppers this year.
The bazaar has drawn a number of new exhibitors who bring with them fresh bazaar finds like affordable Pakistan-made fashion accessories and poncho by Rainstorm and Korean-imported garments by RS Espiritu. Aside from bazaar staples like handicrafts from Palawan, export-quality leather bags by Vedasto, Cebu-based exporters like Ish Fashion Accessories, KCL Kecyl Export Philippines, El Nino Fashion Accessories Export Manufacturing, VSA Silhouette and Cebu Gifts and Fine Arts have all made their presence felt this year.
The bazaar is also the place to be for fashionistas looking for branded garments and accessories at reasonable prices. This year, more garment-selling exhibitors have joined the bazaar, giving shoppers more options and reasons to update one’s closet. Companies like Orig D2, Caruz, X.O. Garments, LML Excess Fashion, Beltex Trading and May 2 Fashion offer a wide range of export-quality children’s wear, sportswear, men’s and ladies’ apparel and corporate fashion.
For regulars who intend to find familiar names and product lines, the bazaar staples are definitely still there. From El Roi’s handcrafted and high-fashion wooden bags, to Laguna’s embroideries, handcarvings and woodcrafts from Baguio and Palawan, fashion accessories from Cebu and a delightful collection of regional delicacies.
And the bazaar, being a mine place for rare yet practical finds, brings back to Cebu G.O. Engineering’s ingenious charcoal stove. An invention of a Pinoy engineer, Rizal Obligar, the stove now comes in metallic bronze and updated with a pull-out ash tray for easier maintenance.
Wholesale buyers can also source their merchandise at the bazaar. Major credit cards are also accepted.
