Banal, one of the most promising young fighters in the country today, and Terdkiat will headline the SGG Sports Promotions card “Stars of the Future” on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Mandaue City Sports Complex.
Rest
Terdkiat, with his trainer, will arrive on board a Philippine Airlines flight PR 855 at 8 p.m. and will resign directly to his hotel to freshen up when he faces the scales on Friday.
Terdkiat boasts of a 7-2-1, win-loss-draw record and has a reputation of having an iron jaw. The Thai, though, will need to be tougher when he faces the dangerous 18-year-old Banal, who parades a 10-0-1, with 8 knockouts.
In the undercard is the power-punching ALA Rocky Fuentes who will fight Greg Mangan for the second time. Their first fight ended in a controversial split draw in January 2005.
Tagbilaran puncher Glen Masicampo will climb the ring against Anton Olarte, while undefeated prospect Milan “Milenyo” Milendo will get a tough test against veteran Fabio Marfa.
Amateur standout
Former amateur boxing standout Joseph Omanz will appear on the same card as special attraction against Carlo Magale.
Comebacking Ruben Santillanosa will fight Edward Apa-ap, Jun Intor will face Noel Sungahid, Leon Maratas will battle Joel de la Cruz, and Romeo Jakosalem of Davao City will make his ring debut against Romnick Rapista.
Fight fans will be treated to a total of 70 rounds of boxing on the eve of the Sinulog Grand Mardi Gras. (RCM)
