Mayor Osmeña wanted to make the Sinulog festival to be the “best in Asia.”

The estimated two million people who took to the streets Sunday seem to agree with the mayor.

Senate aspirants Mike Defensor, Chavit Singson and Miguel Zubiri were seen at the Cebu Sports Center grandstand during Sunday’s Sinulog festival.

Some called that early campaigning.

But not if they hid under the skirts of those papier-mache higantes.

As many as three of five Filipinos believe their political leaders were “dishonest,” a recent Asia Research Organization survey showed.

If our politicians were honest, will they ever get elected into office?

Heavily armed police hammered glass walls to enter the Iloilo Capitol and implement an order unseating its governor.

It was a “charade, not a raid,” Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez said.

Imagine what a real raid would be.

The Bureau of Customs in Cebu will allow the Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corp. in Toledo City to recover before it will collect the P800-million tax on imported mining equipment.
