Monday, January 29, 2007 Ouano to open another Jollibee franchise
A LOCAL franchisee of a fastfood chain is set to open its third outlet in March this year to cater to more customers in the northern part of Cebu province.
Cebu businessman Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano will open his third franchise of Jollibee Foods Cebu Inc. in Liloan, Cebu.
Ouano said Jollibee Liloan will be able to seat 60 customers, apart from a drive-through service.
“Many applied for a franchise for that location but we were chosen, maybe because of the good performance of our existing franchise outlets,” Ouano told reporters last Jan. 23 at the Nonki Japanese Restaurant.
According to Ouano, his franchised Jollibee oulets in the towns of Bogo in the north and CarCar in southern Cebu bagged the Jollibee Gold Award last Jan. 15 for world-class service and quality.
The gold award is the highest recognition given to all Jollibee franchised outlets.
Ouano said out of 500 Jollibee fastfood restaurants worldwide, only 60 outlets were awarded the gold medal, and six of which are in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Ouano said Jollibee Bogo received the silver award in 2005 and 2006 while Jollibee Carcar got the bronze last year.
“I am happy that both outlets finally got the gold this year but it was not easy at all,” said Ouano.
He said the gold award is given to Jollibee outlets that should have at least a 90 percent rating in food service cleanliness and quality system, and should have no grade lower than 60 percent in the evaluation.
Ouano said part of the assessment is done by evaluators who come to the restaurant disguised as customers.
He attributed the awards to his hardworking crew that, he said, will be receiving incentives soon.
Ouano was also named managing director for 2006 in Visayas and Mindanao during the Jollibee Franchise Convention. (MMM)
