Sollano targets belt v. Agrabio

CEBUANO pug JR Sollano is raring to get his hands on the RP super featherweight championship belt vacated by Jimrex Jaca as the Rex “Wakee” Salud Stable ward takes on the equally hungry Dodie Boy Agrabio tonight at the Dalaguete Sports Complex.

The protagonists in the main event of the card promoted by Rex “Wakee” Salud International in cooperation with Dalaguete Mayor Ronald Allan Sesante, vice mayor Andrade Alcantara, the Sangguniang Panglungsod and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, passed the scales with ease in yesterday’s official weigh-in held at the Games and Amusement Board-Cebu office at the DBP Building.

Sollano tipped the scales at exactly 130lbs, while Agrabio weighed in at 129.5lbs.

The hard-punching 24-year-old Sollano carries an 11-5, 8 KOs record, while Agrabio holds a 6-3-1, 1KO card.

Fighting in the undercard is former Pan-Asian Boxing Association (Paba) light flyweight champion Marvin Tampus (13-5-2, 10KOs), who will trade blows versus journeyman War Bartiquil for 10 rounds.

Also to be featured is the Laguna (4-1, 2KOs)-Melvin Ayudtud (12-13-2, 4KOs) battle.

Completing the cast of characters in the 50-round slugfest are Jimmy Siscon versus Jun Jamlan, Virgilio Silvano against Gil Castromayor, Christopher Antenero against Romart Sentillas and RH George against Jimbert Lamoste. (RCM)
