Pacman tiff moved one week earlier

MANNY Pacquiao will have enough time to campaign if ever he would chase his political ambitions for the May 14 elections.

Bob Arum swapped the date with another US boxing promoter to accommodate the Pacquiao-Jorge Solis 12-round fight on April 14 instead of April 21 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

However, with the earlier date, Pacquiao is expected to train even harder, as Solis, an undefeated WBC Latin Americas and WBA Fedecentro champion, is not an easy opponent.

Solis’ record

At 27 years old, Solis is a veteran of 34 fights, winning 32 bouts while the two were draws – he also had 23 knockouts into his credit. In short, the fighter from Guadalajara, Mexico is a 72 percent knockout puncher.

In his last fight, Solis scored a technical knockout on the fifth round over Fernando Omar Lazarraga on Jan. 25. (RCM)
