Shangri-la’s new tent to house over 800 dinner guests
TO TAKE advantage of increasing interest of foreigners in Cebu, Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort and Spa has built a multi-function tent, called The Marquee, which “raises special occasions to a higher bar and much grander scale.”
“The Marquee’s spacious interiors is the biggest of its kind in the region. It is perfect venue for lavish weddings, gala dinners, social gatherings, conventions, exhibits and all kinds of grand events,” according to a statement from the Shangri-La.
This new landmark occupies an area of 1,156 square meters. The space can be converted into all kinds of setup and guarantees exclusivity.
The structure, which is designed by Manila-based Syndicated Architects, has a dimension of 34 meters and a ceiling height of 11.5 meters. Full banquets can seat up to 800 persons, while a reception area can fill up to 1,100 persons in full capacity.
Shangri-La is one of the sponsors of the Cebu Business Month 2007, which will be held from May to June. (JBN)
