UV looking for revenge
Games today (Cebu Coliseum) 1 p.m.— Skygo-SWU v. Guardo- Don Bosco 2:30 p.m.— Virginia-USJR v. Gaisano Metro-UC 4 p.m.— Hapee-USC v. CDO-UV
AFTER a weeklong hiatus, the Partner’s Cup caging resumes today with an exciting triple-header treat at the Cebu Coliseum.
The CDO-University of the Visayas Green Lancers, who absorbed its only second loss in six years, had an entire week to recount its miscues and is expected to have already made adjustments as it faces the Hapee-University of San Carlos Warriors in the main game at 4 p.m.
The CDO-UV and Hapee-USC teams will renew their rivalry after the Green Lancers defeated the Warriors for the title last year in the 2006 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc.
Itching
Both teams are itching for a win with UV trying to get back on its feet after losing to Metro Gaisano-University of Cebu, while Hapee-USC, who are on a mean winning streak, wants to exact revenge from its Cesafi loss.
The Warriors, who recently bagged the regional Private Schools Athletic Association basketball title in Bohol, is currently sporting an immaculate 2-0 win-loss record.
The focus in today’s match-up of titans will be on UV center Rino Berami, who needs to step up in his game against USC center Enrico Llanto, the reigning Cesafi Most Valuable Player.
Tournament leader UC, which totes a clean 4-0 record, on the other hand, will gun for its fifth straight win when it squares off with Virginia-University of San Jose Recoletos.
The Virginia-USJR five are coming into the game fresh from a humiliating loss to El Rancho-Cebu Institute of Technology. (MCB)
