Dessert Factory opens new branch at SM City Cebu

DESSERT Factory, after successfully establishing itself in Ayala Center Cebu, now opens another branch in SM City Cebu. The new branch will formally open today.

With mouth-watering treats, Dessert Factory has become a word of mouth for cakes, cookies and sweet desserts.

Since desserts come after every dinner, it also positions itself as a restaurant serving menus of all-time Filipino and American favorites, among others.

“When we opened, we felt that offering desserts only would make us too specialized and that the business might not survive.

So, we started to serve short orders and at first there were eight entrees,” said Kenneth Lim, owner.

“We serve the kind of food that I personally want to eat,” added Lim.

Lim, even before the putting up the restaurant in 2000, was already into baking and began making pastries for relatives and friends. He went to a culinary school in New York to further hone his baking skills.

Until now, Lim still takes charge of the kitchen, pre-mixing ingredients and looks after the cooking to ensure consistency in quality. “All the food ideas are from him,” said Rachel Lim, Kenneth’s wife and business partner.

The splash of candy colors and the whimsical theme of Dessert Factory’s interior make their brownies, cheese cakes and ice cream cakes more appetizing.

Dessert Factory also promises to continue offerring new products for their customers. (JSC)
