Ex-RP player Fegidero scores 5 as CIS routs Inter Cebu for 2nd win

FORMER national team mainstay Joshua Fegidero ran circles around the defense to tow the Cebu International School to a 6-1 walk in the park win over FC Inter Lapu-Lapu in the Aboitiz Men’s Division B at the San Roque Parish grounds.

It was the second straight rout for CIS, which has two former national team members in their lineup.

Fegidero, who played for the country in the 2002 Tiger Cup, banged in five goals—four in the first half—for CIS’ easy win.

The Bacolod City footballer connected in the 11th minute before Dominic Rebolios leveled the count in the 15th for Lapu-Lapu.

However, it was FC Inter’s last hurrah as Fegidero scored a hat trick in a 10-minute span and Olivier Colina, who also suited up for the country in 2005, banged in a goal in the 37th for a comfortable 5-1 count.

In the first game, Ramos FC ran out of steam in the second half to bow to the University of the Philippines Alumni FC, 2-5, for its second straight loss.

Boyet Auditor opened the scoring for Up in the 2nd before Jasper Jumadiao leveled the match in the fifth. Diosdado Montano again put UP ahead in the 12th but Ramos caught up in the 17th courtesy of Kent Zozobrado.

There was no more catching up for the Ramos club as Montano scored his second in 39th and Henry Ramirez made it 4-2 in the 44th before Auditor capped his day with a second-half goal.

Meanwhile, FC Inter Cebu fought Team Cebu City to a 1-1 draw.

John Ray Sulib put TCC ahead in the 18th before Glendo Ouano leveled the count in the 45th.

In the final match, the Cebu Institute of Technology survived a gritty Cebu State College of Science and Technology, 1-0, to nail its second win. Raphael Heria scored the lone goal of the match in the 24th. (ML)
