CDU dentistry root canals SWU in school caging
GUNTHER Seroys connected with a buzzer-beating three-pointer to lift the Cebu Doctors University (CDU) Dentistry team past Southwestern University, 67-66, and earn a championship slot in the ongoing Inter-Dentistry Sportsfest at the CDU Gym.
The CDU Dents led most of the way until a series of fastbreaks and turnovers switched the lead to SWU Dent’s side in the final quarter.

The final canto saw a see-saw battle with Val Valiente pounding on the inside, with Seroy helping him inside the paint for CDU.
Time ticking
With time winding down, the SWU Dents found themselves in the drivers’ seat, courtesy of Kent Arfondican.
With less than 10 seconds, CDU’s Clint Bacalla launched a trey that missed, but the ball was tapped back to Bacallas hands.
Bacalla then passed the ball to Seroy from beyond the arc, and with three seconds remaining, Seroy launched the game-winning points for CDU.
Seroy topscored for CDU Dent with 20 points, while Valiente had 16 markers.
Leading SWU’s losing cause was Arfondican with 26 markers.
The win gave CDU Dents the championship slot in the tournament, which is being participated in by dentists, dental students and accredited dental technicians from CDU, SWU, UV and the Cebu Dental Society.
