First Nokia store in Cebu opens at SM City Cebu

NOKIA, one of the largest cellular phone manufacturer worldwide, in partnership with Junrex, a Cebu-based cellular phone distributor, opened the first Nokia store in Cebu City at SM City Cebu.

William Hamilton-Whyte, Nokia’s country general manager, said that the establishment of the store is a part of Nokia’s strategy to be “closer to customers for a better Nokia experience.”

Whyte said that the store will offer all Nokia products–from the latest Nokia cellular phone models to accessories and parts. The store will also offer technical support for Nokia phones.

“Nokia can be best experienced through a Nokia store because it has everything. We capitalize on customer care. When they buy a Nokia phone, we want them to experience the service that goes with it,” he added.

Nokia is penetrating the provinces, which he said has a “huge market potential.”

Whyte said that Nokia observed a 1.5 percent increase in its market share.

He said that currently, Nokia maintains a 35.6 market share among cellular phone manufacturers worldwide.

Nokia, he said, is steadfast in maintaining itself as the top brand in Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, Middle East Africa and China.

“In the Philippines, we’re clearly number one,” said Whyte.

He attributes their market success on Nokia’s commitment to “quality and service.”

“We have the best care service in the Philippines,” he added.

For them at Nokia, access to information should be easy and simple for everyone.

Nokia is looking towards the integration of other technologies in its future phones: GPRS, better multimedia setting and the introduction of mobile television on Nokia phones. (JSC)
