QA takes overall title in SanMig sportsfest

QUALITY Assurance (QA)-SanMig Light team took the over-all plum of the San Miguel Corp. annual sportsfest over the weekend at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The QA team bested six other teams, collating the most number of points in the daylong event to take the crown.

QA registered a total of 237 points after its wards dominated in six of the 15 sporting events featured in the day.

The bulk of QA’s points came from the athletics events, where they topped in the 100 meter dash, women’s 20 meter dash and the long jump event. The team also came out the overall champion in the football shootout match and soccer baseball.

Meanwhile, Engineering-Superdry team came in at second place barely eking out of the top placer with a total of 223 points. Superdry won in the discus throw, tug-of-war, men’s 50m run and 4x25m relay.

Brewing-Pale Pilsen team came in at distant third with a combined 197 points.

Brewing team’s men’s badminton team and its shotput player, lifted the team to salvage the last spot in the podium.

Packaging-Strong Ice, Red Horse and Logistics took the next three places respectively.

The sports fest of San Miguel Corp is set annually, which gives its employees a whole day break to take part in different sporting competitions.
