Sunday, March 25, 2007 Cviraa champ faces CIT in Aboitiz quarterfinals
AFTER topping the Central Visayas Athletic Association (Cviraa), Team Cebu City will go for a slot in the Aboitiz Division B final four as it meets Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) in the quarterfinals at the San Roque Parish grounds.
CIT has long been considered the minnows of Cebu collegiate football but the team has gained confidence in Division B as they went undefeated in three matches.
In the second game, Queen City B, led by Richard Montayre, will take on Maitland Smith before the exciting University of San Carlos (USC) vs. Cebu International School (CIS) match.
In the third game, Joshua Fegidero will have his loyalties divided as he is connected to both USC and CIS. Last year, the former national team mainstay guided USC to its first Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. title and has also coached the school in two of their three games in the Division B.
However, Fegidero also plays for CIS and has also scored six goals in CIS’ second win. (ML)
