THE Rebel batters will take on Salazar Institute of Technology (SIT) in the hopes of fortifying its lead, as the 1st Rep. Antonio V. Cuenco Softball Cup resumes at the Basak Elementary School grounds today.
The two teams will collide after the curtain raiser between Team Cavalier and the Rudy Dignos squad at 9 a.m.
Today’s game will see the student challenging its mentors as the Rebels, spearheaded by Alintone Adolfo, is going up against Adolfo’s old team and whose members he used to consider his mentors.
The younger Rebels team will come into the game hot from its convincing domination of Sibonga, 11-4, last week.
Umpires called the game off in the sixth inning after the Rebels built up a lead they felt was impossible for the Sibonga Selection to catch.
SIT meanwhile hopes to bounce back from its loss to Pusok, who defeated them, 8-5, via a come—from—behind sneaker.
It will be a long day for the Rebels who have two games to contend with. It closes the day with another game, this time against the Cavaliers.
Also in the afternoon, Carcar Royale will campaign for its second win in the conference and go against Pusok at 1:30. (MCB)
