Around 9:30 a.m., the minor was sent by his grandmother to ask his 16-year-old brother where he kept the bolo, which their grandmother wanted to use.
The police surmised that the younger child was not so respectful while asking, and angered the older brother who was playing volleyball with his friends.
Instead of patching up, the two brothers punched each other. Before the older brother knew it, the younger child hit him with a knife in his chest.
The police have yet to investigate where the knife came from.
The victim was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center, but was declared dead on arrival.
Witnesses, mostly the victim’s friends, refused to speak. As of press time, the boy was in hiding.
His mother, Vilma, who is residing in Talisay, told the police investigators she didn’t know where her son was.
