Friday, March 30, 2007 Solid SIT trouncesRebel batters
AFTER an impressive run in the opening day, the Rebel batters succumbed to two straight losses in the Rep. Antonio Cuenco Softball Cup last weekend at the Basak Elementary School.
The Rebels first lost to its mentors SIT in a lopsided 1-9 game, and later absorbed its second loss after failing to field a complete lineup in its game against Pau Liniment.
In its first game, SIT and Rebels were on even terms after both scored a run each in the opening frame. It was however the Rebels lone point for the entire game.
The SIT sluggers broke the deadlock and distanced themselves in the second inning with two runs. The Rebels had all the chances to get back, but came out unproductive in the next five innings.
The final inning saw SIT scoring six more runs, spiked by a homerun by Roldan Bacarisas, for the SIT troop to log its first win in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Dignos sluggers registered its second victory via a 5-2 win over PAu Liniment.
Sandy Ladisla and Carrie dela Cerna scored a homerun each made in the 5th and 6th inning respectively.
Meanwhile, Pusok Selection pulled off an emphatic 12-2 win over Carcar Royale. (MCB)
