Saturday, March 31, 2007 Semis cast complete for Liloan tennis tilt
THE semifinals cast of the Titay’s Rosquillos Centennial Cup has been completed after yesterday’s action at the Lilo-an Tennis Club.
Topseed Lorelou Bo Alburo leads the semifinalists after defeating Oswaldo Dumoran, 6-3, 6-3, in their quarterfinals match up. With this, he books a ticket to the penultimate round, where he is slated to go against Fitzgerald Tabura.
Tabura snagged an entry to the semis after his opponent, Rey Dinopol, retired halfway into the second set.
Lower end
In the lower end of the draw, former collegiate stalwart Janji Soquiño trounced Lowell Lloyd Cañete, a high school varsity of University of San Carlos, 6-2, 6-2.
He will be going against Michael Quiñones in today’s semis. Quiñones ousted Junjun Cabrera, 6-2, 6-1.
In the doubles event, top duo Tabura and Adonis Lominoque also advanced to the semifinal round after trampling on Dinopol and Rankol Guillemer, 10-4.
Sneaky
Tabura and Lominoque will face Soquiño and Dumoran in the semis, after sneaking past Joseph Sierra and Whitney Labos, 10-8.
Alburo and Quiñones moved to the semis after flogging James Dumoran and Ariel Logronio, 10-4. They will be squaring off with Jikjik Bohol and Brian Quint in the other semifinal outing. (MCB)
