Django beats Archer to win US Tour Championships
FRANCISCO “Django” Bustamante continued his unbeaten run and defeated Johnny Archer anew, 7-6, to annex the US Tour Championships in California the other day.
Bustamante, who skipped the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines’ National Open, showed he made the right move as he pocketed $10,000 for his win.

Earlier, Bustamante defeated Mika Immonen, 7-4, to get to the first finals seat.
In the losers’ bracket, Archer defeated Robb Saez, 7-2 and booted out Immonen, 7-4, to arrange a finals duel with the Pinoy.
Archer seemed headed to the title as he took a 6-3 lead but the American lost control in the eight rack. Bustamante took control of the match as he nailed four straight racks for his close win.
Archer earned $5,000, while Immonen, who is a regular Philippine visitor, earned $3,000.
Meanwhile, in the Philippine Open, which also missed Efren Reyes along with Bustamante, Lee Van Corteza defeated Marlon Manalo, 13-11, to pocket the P500,000 top prize.
“I think I just got lucky. We were both having bad shots, fortunately I manage to recover,” Corteza said in a TV interview after his win last Sunday. (ML with ESL)
