Cinema, hotels to show Pacquiao-Solis fight

WITH Manny Pacquaio’s fight against Jorge Solis just around the corner, boxing aficionados are scrambling all over town to find a place to view the match live and minus the numerous commercials on free TV.

To answer the need of the fans’ hunt for a place to view the match live, several establishments all over Cebu will be airing a live telecast of the Pacquiao vs. Solis straight from the Alamodome in Texas.

Those who opt for comfort can go to Ayala or at the Marriot, while those who want to mingle with other rabid shouting fans can choose the Mandaue Cultural and Sports Complex or the Cebu Coliseum.

Ayala Cinema will air the match at their Cinema 4, with their sure seats promotion. Admission is still P500, the same amount they charged for the finale of the Pacquiao-Erik Morales trilogy.

Hotels are also into the boxing hype. Waterfront Hotel is opening its doors to boxing fanatics for live telecast. Just like last year’s fight, viewing the Pacquaio versus Solis fight is free of charge as an incentive for their casino players.
Marriott Hotel is also charging P500 for the telecast.

“Marriott Hotel has always been supportive of boxing matches. General Manager Karl Hudson believes this is where Filipinos are good at,” says Marriot PR manager Joan Danao.

For those who have less to spare for this Sunday’s bout, the RWS International will air the fight at Mandaue and at the Cebu Coliseum and will charge P100 for general admission and P200 for ringside seats. STC Media Comm intern Elisabeth Baumgart.
