Here Comes the Sun!
By Annie Marie Torres

HOORAY for summer! After months of that hefty school load, you feel the rush and intensity of the summer vibe. So, you’re planning to hit the beach, but wait! Isn’t summer also the time to try out something new? Yes! The next two months should be about trying new things. So take the time and try these exciting and fun ways to make the most of your vacation.

Pinoy Votes: Sun.Star Election 2007

1. Enroll in a summer class

Whether it’s an art class or a voice lesson, taking summer classes would be worthwhile. You don’t only get to discover your potentials but it’s also a way of boosting your self-confidence. And by the time that school bell rings again, you will surely have something different to share with your peers.

2. Get into Sports

Instead of just staying home and becoming a professional couch potato, trying out a new sport would do you good. It’s always good to stretch those muscles.

3. Road trip with your barkada

Hit the road under the sunny skies. Aside from getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it’s another way to bond with your friends.

4. Earn your way out

If a road trip is out of your budget, don’t worry because there’s always a way to earn some cash. Try looking at your closet and surely you’ll find out that you’ve been piling a lot of unused items all this time. Try organizing a garage sale. Not only will you rid your closet of some junk, you’ll also get the much-needed money for your planned trip.

5. Do a good deed

Another way of putting those old clothes and books to good use is by donating them to charity and foundations. A kid would surely be happy to get an unexpected gift.

Now, have you thought about that new summer thing of yours? Whatever you decide to do, remember to enjoy and have fun. Carpe diem!
