Speak out: Reclaiming lost glory
By Kevin Lagunda
Pagsabungan, Mandaue City

LET me remind the electorate that election is a sacred process. Voters must not do something to tarnish it.

But the preservation of its sacredness is not only in the hands of the electorate who are mostly ordinary citizens. It is also in the hands of politicians.

Pinoy Votes: Sun.Star Election 2007

This means that politicians should not treat the electoral process as a mere game. They get elected to lead and serve constituents, not screw (with) them.

Local elections have always been a roller-coaster ride. And crooks continue to be in government.

So for a change, I beg the electorate to use their conscience when they vote in May, to return the sacredness of the electoral process. I also beg politicians to be true to their promises. Through this, the Filipino national can reclaim its long, lost glory.
