Omega boxers rule CCSC tilt

OMEGA Boxing Club fighters continued their dominance over their counterparts from the Rex “Wakee” Salud gym as the Cebu City Sports Commission Amateur Boxing Developmental Program resumed at the San Nicolas Gym in Sawang Calero.

Johnriel Casimiro dominated Nerlson Canlom of RWS-Lapu-Lapu in a Referee-Stopped Contest-Outclassed (RSC-O) at the 46-second mark of the third round.

Ed Orellano pulled a surprise RSC-O win in the third round over Roebenel Sentillas of RWS-Flores in the hotly contested 48-kg division.

Also scoring a stoppage win were Arby Piloton of RWS-Flores, with an RSC-Injury win at the 27 seconds mark of the third round over Jemly Trocio of Guadalupe in the 42-kg division, and Robert Estreba of Andy Tabs Gym, with a retirement victory at the 45 seconds mark of the fourth round over Dave Peñalosa of Opra in the 51-kg division.

Other winners include Wilmark Dignos of Opra over Joshua Abella of Basak San Nicolas (22-kg), Margarito Moya of Sanai Gym over Barry Artim De la Rama of Opra (27-kg), RD Boyose of Sambag II over Edgar Moya in the 42-kg limit, Andrino Piscante of Sanai Gym over Anthony Sabalde of Guadalupe, also in the 42-kg division, Benjie Rellon of Pardo over Cleford Loreto of Sambag II (48-kg), Renan Villaflor of Guadalupe over Robin Jugan of Pasil (48-kg), RJ Anoos of RWS-Liloan over Vincent Acao of RWS-Flores (52-kg) and Benjie Espinosa of Camputhaw over Fernando Perez of Omega BC in the 54-kg class.

The next competition will be held in Inayawan Gym on April 21. (RCM)
