CEBU City will always be a place where the most unique bands emerge, and it’s probably because Cebu has great taste when it comes to music.
Cebuanos pay attention to the talents behind the band and the quality of the music they make. In the case of Soul Mafia, their mix of English, American and Filipino band members make them truly unique, but their talent and the quality of their performance makes them truly one-of-a-kind.
Their X Factor is non-other-than their lead vocalist Chris Ducker. A native of Britain, he came to Cebu for work and considers the place paradise.
He completes the Soul Mafia experience with his charming good looks, powerful soulful voice and groovy dance moves during performances. He keeps the crowd on their feet and he ends every gig with crazy fans asking for more.
Soul music, for the most part, is considered “black” music since it’s the music that legends like Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles are known for. However, a white man from Britain is educating Cebu with this music–and at the same time giving us a real good time. You can catch Chris Ducker, the “whitest of man in soul” and the rest of Soul Mafia at their official home, Tapas Lounge, tonight from 9 p.m. onwards for Bacardi and Soul.
No cover charge. For more information log on to www.soulmafiaonline.com or call 233-4089.
