But City Councilor Sylvan Jakosalem said that like their first visit in other Lahug sitios last April 16, residents welcomed them.
“The reception is very good. In fact, one of our biggest pulong-pulong was in (Sitio) Kamagong when we first had a pulong-pulong there,” he said.
Most Kamagong residents are beneficiaries of the Capitol’s Ordinance 93-1.
City Councilor Edgardo Labella, too, said that the residents approached and told them of their concerns.
Jakosalem said it is understood that Lahug residents love de los Santos and will vote for her. But they are mature and intelligent enough to listen.
In a separate interview, GO Cebu City chairman Jonathan Guardo said it is understandable that BOPK will revisit Lahug to disprove that it is de los Santos’ territory.
But, he said, it is the GO that succeeded in dispelling the notion that Guadalupe is lorded over by Osmeña and his rival, Rep. Antonio Cuenco, who both reside in the barangay.
Guardo is challenging Cuenco for the south district’s congressional seat.
He said that over 12,000 residents attended their Guadalupe pulong-pulong Friday night, a big crowd even when compared to their gatherings in opposition barangays.
Also, Guardo said the local GO will junk John Henry “Sonny” Osmeña because of the former senator’s comments on the GO rally held in Punta Princesa, also last Friday.
Sonny expressed disappointment over the Punta Princesa rally, which he said drew only 500 spectators.
Guardo countered there were really over 3,000 people, but they left when it was Sonny’s turn to speak. (RHM)
