CICC open house, tours start today

CEBUANOS who are curious about what’s inside the controversial Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) will get a chance to see for themselves, as the CICC opens its doors to the public today until the Mandaue City fiesta on May 8.

The CICC will also be the venue of the annual Miss Mandaue beauty pageant on May 7.

Acting Mandaue City Mayor Amadeo Seno Jr. announced yesterday that the Provincial Government has approved their request to give the public a closer look at the building, which cost the Province P581 million. The lot belongs to Mandaue.

Free tickets were distributed starting yesterday through the Mandaue Secretary’s office.

Those interested to join the tour inside the CICC can get free tickets from the CICC main gate during the four-day activity or from the Mandaue City Mayor’s Office executive assistant Estanislao Sanchez.

The CICC shall accommodate 400 visitors every day during the four-day open house. It will be open for public viewing from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. There will be eight tour batches, with 50 people to be entertained every 30 minutes.

Marisa Nallana, CICC officer-in-charge, requested visitors to avoid wearing slippers and shorts if they intend to be part of the guided tours. (Roxygane Q. Coca, UP Mass Comm Intern)
