Vegas Diary Day 3: What happens here, stays here

LAS VEGAS — Everytime I glance at my wedding ring, I am reminded to always walk the righteous path and behave in a manner worthy of winning the Most Faithful Husband of the Year award.

Sadly, it is a challenge to do that here in Las Vegas, a modern-day Garden of Eden inhabited by luscious brunettes, seductive figures and enhanced breasts.

And oh, did I mention that all types of blondes are here? Sandy blonde. Natural blonde. Peroxide blonde. Dyed blonde. Blonde highlights. And blonde ambition. Grrrr.

While sipping hot chocolate inside the MGM’s Starbucks, I met this young lady named Carmy yesterday. Trained as a sports writer with a penchant for detail, I immediately got her vital stats.

Carmy is 20. She’s a student at Oklahoma State University and she works part-time in the car sales industry. She is an 8-of-10 in the beauty scale, a nine in charm. She is sandy blonde, and her eyes were blue as the Pacific Ocean.

“You look familiar,” she told me. “Really?” I said with all the cool I could muster.

“Have we met?” She pressed on. “Hmmm, I don’t think so, but I wish,” I replied. She laughed and the next thing I knew we were sharing a table.

She ate a Turkey sandwich with diet Coke. I had a banana muffin with hot chocolate. And I couldn’t stop looking at her micro mini skirt. I got so excited I dripped cocoa over my light green Burberry’s long sleeve. And I almost chewed on my napkin.

Like me, Carmy is billeted at the MGM Grand. So we shared an elevator ride after leaving Starbucks. I stopped at the 12th floor. Alone.

Sorry boys, but nothing malicious happened. After all, I am a devoted husband.

In a quiet Day 2, meeting Carmy was easily the highlight.

Another worthy endeavor was going live on-air with Leo Lastimosa. It was a blast, like always.

Sammy Gello-ani, Salven Lagumbay and Dong Secuya dropped by my room later in the day. Boss Dong gave me a bag full of my favorite delights — hopia fro La Fortuna bakery fresh from Cebu City. They invited me for dinner, but I stayed in the room to watch the Warriors eliminate the Mavs from the NBA playoffs.

At around 11 pm, there was a knock on my door. I opened it. Gosh, it was a sight for sore eyes. I’m sure you’re curious who it was there standing on my door, begging to come in.

I’d love to tell. But what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. (Homer D. Sayson)
