Tuesday, May 08, 2007 Oil firm launches CME-blended diesel
CHEVRON Philippines Inc. (CPI) recently announced that its coconut methyl ester (CME)-blended Caltex Power Diesel B1 is now available in Caltex stations around the country.
The release of the product was in time for the nationwide implementation of the biodiesel program as mandated by Republic Act 9367 or the Biofuels Act of 2006.
“Despite the tight schedule that was afforded to us with which to set up the necessary infrastructure for the safe and reliable blending and distribution of biodiesel, we were able to complete the job and have made available biodiesel-blended product across our service station network,” said Mark Quebral, CPI Policy, Government and Public Affairs manager.
“By May 6 (the official start of implementation of the biodiesel program by law), we will be fully compliant with the biodiesel mandate, with Caltex Power Diesel B1 sold at all Caltex retail stations nationwide and to all our commercial and industrial customers,” he added.
Beneficial
There are over 840 Caltex service stations around the country.
Caltex Power Diesel B1 is a blend of Caltex Power Diesel (99 percent) and CME (percent).
It has all the beneficial features of Power Diesel and CME at a competitive price.
The company began delivering biodiesel-blended fuel to a number of its Caltex stations as early as April 23 in line with its preparation for the company’s full compliance with the biodiesel mandate under the Biofuels Act that was signed into law last January. (PR)
