Tuesday, May 08, 2007 Speak out: Honest, humble leader wanted By Julius Alquiza Pinamungajan, Cebu
THE shameless hacks may unwittingly up the Pinamungajanons for a leader whose level of commitment is low. Too much emphasis on appearance (overlooking the person’s character) can foul our judgment in the choice of our leaders.
We don’t need a candidate who is seeking elective position in the government with the theory that public service is a good milking cow. What we need is a good man who will seek the opinions and advice of others and enlist the help of the people he has inspired by his humility and honest to make up his inadequacies.
My idea of a leader is one who offers everything, not just his strength and abilities but also his own shortcoming and failings, in the altar of public service.
