Plantation Bay: a place for all seasons
By Nelia G. Neri

RIGHT from the start, Plantation Bay Resort and Spa focused on a different concept, thanks to the vision of its founder, Manny Gonzalez, who devised a unique set up for the resort with a promise of a one-of-a-kind experience.

The centerpiece of the entire complex is a well-thought of and beautifully
executed man-made lagoon dotted by gazebos, ponds, spillway foothpaths and swimming areas. The lagoon looks picturesque by day and turns magical at night!

The resort’s plantation theme evokes the dreamy days of long ago when life was laid back and so much simpler, and people had time “to smell the roses.”

Oh yes, the place definitely recreates “the good life” of the bygone days!

Another thing that sets Plantation Bay apart are the names used for the buildings and facilities. They are based on “exotic places in fact and fiction,” thus, there are the Alcatraz Ballroom, Galapagos Beach, Iguasu Lodge, Kilimanjaro Kafe (the circular 24-hour cafe sitting prettily at the lagoon), Mogambo Springs, Piazza Palermo, Savannah Pool, Xanadu, etc. The names used all throughout follow an alphabetical order from A to Z.

A place for all seasons, that’s what resident manager Efren Belarmino says of Plantation Bay and I fully agree. At anytime of the year, be it day or night, there’s something for everyone at the resort.

Pick your choice... swim in fresh or saltwater, sing your heart out at the private karaoke rooms, or savor the yummies in the restos. If you are the adventurous type, learn to scuba-dive, go para-sailing, explore the secret cave, try wall climbing, glide down the water-slides, or jump off the dive rock. As for the restless and the athletic, there’s the gym, and not too far away is the game room.

Not interested in energy-draining activities? There’s always the delightful bedroom to luxuriate in where you can watch memorable vintage movies (a whole collection awaits)...or spend time in your private balcony, breathe fresh air, meditate, take in the view, whatever! Want some pampering?... indulge in different kinds of massages and skin treats at the spa.

Plantation Bay beckons!
