Wednesday, May 23, 2007 The Quota Santacruzan By Nelia G. Neri
FOR two decades or so now, the Quota International of Cebu has been organizing a fund-raising Santacruzan for the many projects of the club, particularly for the speech and hearing-impaired children. Starting out with little fanfare, the Quota Santacruzan, after all these years, has become a looked-forward-to summer observance. The participants who are mostly children, and their sponsors (and the organizers as well) are all generous souls who give time, money and effort for the many good causes of Quota.
This year’s Santacruzan started out with a Holy Mass at the San Carlos Seminary in Mabolo, followed by a colorful procession all the way to the Grand Convention Center where the coronation rites took place. The evening’s festivities opened with a touching invocation by a group of hearing-impaired students who wholeheartedly acted out the words in the prayer song. It was so touching!
