SCSIT whips Carcar Royale, 14-3

THE Salazar College of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) coasted to its second straight victory with another merciless 14-3 rout of Carcar Royale in the 2nd M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Invitational Softball tournament recently at the Ouano ballfield in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City.

SCSIT only needed four innings to shackle Carcar Royale as it enjoyed an insurmountable 11-run advantage resulting to a regulation win.

SIT logged two runs in the first inning, seven in the top of the fourth inning and five in the fifth.

The Carcar batters tried to prevent the game from being called off, but they could only produce three runs at their turn in the fourth inning.

Nelson Misa, of Carcar, made a home run, sending with him his teammates Rey Campaña and Jessie Langbid, who were at the bases while he was at bat.

Misa’s effort, however, went to naught as Carcar Royale crashed to the bottom of the standings with a woeful 0-2 start.

On the other hand, the Pusok selection needed only six innings to hammer out a 9-1 triumph over Aldritz Liniment.

Pusok joined SCSIT on top of the standings with similar 2-0 win-loss records.

Aldritz failed to bounce back from back-to-back defeats as it could only fight to a draw against the M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) squad.

The two protagonists posted three runs apiece at the end of the seventh inning.

In the juniors division, Angelic debuted with an impressive 13-0 shutout of Cambaro.

The Angelic mainstays pounded out six runs in the first inning, one in the second and another six runs in the third inning.
Cambaro’s failure to score after three innings abbreviated the supposed five-inning battle.

Meanwhile, the Pusok Juniors joined the winners circle with a 7-2 spanking of the Paintworks. (JSV)
