Y101 dangles new Ford Focus in First Corporate Golf Cup

A FORD Focus will be up for grabs for the lucky golfer who scores an ace when the 1st Y101 Corporate Cup tees of on May 31 at the Par-72 Cebu Country Club.

The Y101 event, which is probably one of the richest golf event of the year in Cebu, will give away a brand new car for those who can score an ace on holes 3, 5, 13 and 15— all 150-yard Par 3s.

“I suggest to all participants to practice their shots on this holes because it’s a Ford Focus that is at stake in here,” Y101 chairman Martha Tuason said in jest during the press conference held at the Parklane Hotel yesterday.

Also present during the press conference were Y101 president and Cebu City Councilor Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem, VP for Public Relations Joseph Stevens, Cebu Country Club general manager Sammy Darza and media coordinator Nimrod Quiñones.

Jakosalem said that holding this golf event serves as a “rebirth” of their outdoor activities which they used to hold in the 90s.

Other prices

Aside from the brand new car, other prizes offered in the event are roundtrip tickets on business class from PAL, a motorcycle from Zongshen, Armsor products, Nike golf items, Tiffany items, Samsung high-end cell phones, appliances, electronic items, food certificates in classy restaurants, exotic travel packages, Rudy Project sunglasses, golf goodies from Aloha Joe’s, Nivea gift packs, City Gym membership, bottles of Johnny Walkerss and Mizuno golf packages.

The competition is a four-man team event with the three best scores to count in each round using the Modified Stableford Scoring System.

The scoring format will give six points for a double eagle and five for an ace. An eagle is worth four points, a birdie is three, a par is two and a bogey is one point.

Adding excitement to the event is the party mode that the Rhythm Crew has prepared and the tricky course which the Cebu Country Club has arranged.

Players with the lowest gross, lowest net and most birdies will receive awards. (RCM)
