Wearing the school year right
By Chassy Cortes and Karla Bautista
UP Masscom Interns

SCHOOL days are just around the corner, and summer has come to an end. But having the chance to dress up does not have to end with it.

Whether entering college or continuing school life, start the school year right and make a good impression in these in-the-moment clothes that are both stylish and comfortable.

Pinoy Votes: Sun.Star Election 2007

BREAK A LEG.

Let the playful and energetic side in you beam naturally in get-ups that shout character and vibrancy.

That '80s feel of dance and sports will be there in seconds when you put on those leggings.

Show everyone your femininity by slipping on a long dress with an interesting detail. That short dress of florals or colorful prints will bring you the same charming feeling.

PLAY ON.

Be it baby doll, harajuku girl or a little Marie Antoinette dresses with playful and dainty styles will let out anyone’s cute oohs and ahhs.

Keep prints to a minimum if you’re full-figured or a plus-size. Play on with lively ones if otherwise.

Polka dots have sprung out like mushrooms–and is still growing–in different sizes and colors. All-cute and fancy, keep it to just one piece of clothing to avoid looking like a jester clown. Jumpers or pinafore dresses wouldn’t give you as much mileage as the cute polka dots. Just wearing this dress alone will keep it effortless and breezy. Layer on a tank top to add interest.

SAIL AWAY.

Still one a vacation mode? Well, don’t fret. Feel like a globetrotter amidst your busy schedule.

There’s the sailor dress to help you sail through school’s joys and trials.

Pick one with thin stripes for dainty occasions or casual weekdays, and bold thick stripes for the nights out or just for your craving of a lively day.

Wear that ever-casual tank top over your bermuda or short shorts, and having an easy, breezy day won’t be a problem anymore. Throw in an exciting bangle or two to add spark to this plain pairing.

Polka dots. Babydoll dresses. Jumper dresses. Leggings. And the cute, colorful prints. All of them will surely have you sashaying through your campus’ hallways. But keep in mind: pick the right size, length and most importantly, the perfect fit for your body type to keep those eyes glued to you.
