Bolo, who landed on the second spot among the five candidates for PB member in the first district of Cebu, filed his statement of contribution and expenses yesterday.
He got the P215,000 from contributions while the remaining P143,500 was from his own pocket.
The Cebu first district has 278,050 registered voters and Commission on Elections (Comelec) rules allow a candidate under a party to spend P3 for every registered voter of the area where the candidate filed his certificate of candidacy.
This means, Bolo, who is under One Cebu-Kampi party, was allowed to spend a maximum of P834,150.
Personal funds
Former vice governor Enrique Rama, who ran for congress in the first district, also filed his statement of contribution and expenses yesterday.
He spent P309,082.50 from his personal funds and the bulk of this was used for miscellaneous expenses, at P120,000.
He spent for his propaganda and campaign materials P80,082.50; P18,000 for food; P25,000 for his two drivers; P36,000 for labor; and P30,000 for gasoline.
Incumbent PB Member Jose Mari Gastardo declared that he spent P224,500 from his personal funds for his bid. He landed in the top spot among four candidates from PB members in the fourth district.
His campaign materials cost P117,000 and P32,000 was spent for transportation.
He also spent P30,000 for food; P17,500 for honorarium and P28,000 for miscellaneous expenses.
The fourth district has 237,440 registered voters.
Last Thursday, reelectionist PB Member Rose Marie Durano of the fifth district also filed her statement of contribution and expenses and declared that she spent P50,000 from her personal funds.
Most of the amount was spent for gasoline (P20,000) and campaign materials (P20,000) while P5,000 was spent for salary and allowances of her campaign staff and another P5,000 for travel allowances.
Candidates have until June 13 to file their statements of contributions and expenditures.
An elected candidate cannot assume office until he files the statement. The failure to comply with this requirement constitutes an administrative offense.
Violators will pay an administrative fine ranging from P1,000 to P30,000, to be determined by the Comelec.
Administrative fines for second and subsequent violations will be raised to P2,000 to P60,000.
The offender will also be perpetually disqualified from public office. (MBG)
