Thursday, June 07, 2007 Chamber readies for launch of program in different areas
THE Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is set to launch the “Go Negosyo sa Probinsya Caravan” in line with the celebration of the Cebu Business Month (CBM) this month.
The “Go Negosyo sa Probinsya Caravan,” which is similar to the “Go Negosyo sa Cebu” earlier announced by the chamber through partnership with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE), aims to spread the advocacy of promoting an optimistic and entrepreneurial mindset among Filipinos especially in key provinces around Cebu.
According to CCCI’s press statement, the event will be brought to Bacolod, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Las Piñas and Dasmariñas in the succeeding months.
Camarines Sur and Pampanga will be the final destinations of its last leg in October.
On the other hand, the “Go Negosyo sa Cebu” will be among the highlights of the CBM 2007.
“The best way to launch the introduction of the Go Negosyo in the provincial areas is in Cebu, since the city is a very progressive area. Cebu will be the main stop of the caravan,” Jose Ma. Concepcion, PCE secretary earlier said.
The one-day conference, which is of free admission, will be held at the Cebu International Convention Center, while a two-day exhibition will be held in SM City Cebu on June 26 and 27.
Topics that will be discussed during the series of forums include: Building an Empire from Scratch: Inspiring Stories from Cebuano Entrepreneurs; Adopting a Culture and Mindset of Entrepreneurship: Do I Have What it Takes?; Riding the Wave:
Business Trends and Opportunities; Laying the Foundations: How to Start Your Own Venture; Taking Pride in Enterprising Cebuanos: The OTOP/SME Stories; Starting Small, Dreaming Big: The New Generaton of Cebuano Entrepreneurs.
Jay Aldeguer, entrepreneurship conference chairman, also expressed optimism on the success of “Go Negosyo” in Cebu because of the province’s strength in entrepreneurship.
PCE aims to spawn the creation of Go Negosyo communities around the country. (MMM)
