CCCI launches Shop Cebu

CEBU Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) launches Shop aCebu, a monthlong shoppers’ festival, highlighted by a simultaneous three-day mallwide sale from June 15 to 17, with a midnight sale on June 16.

Tagged as the revival event of Tour Cebu in 2001, which was also a monthlong shoppers, tourists and diners’ festival, Shop Cebu will offer large and wide-range discounts as well as attractive deals and packages to all Metro Cebu consumers as it aims to promote greater and brisker trade and industry in the city.

Having been categorized as an activity under the Tourism track of this year’s Cebu Business Month celebration, this event also aims to make Cebu the shopping destination in the Philippines.

“By combining all retail stores, restaurants and entertainment spots in the city, we have a great potential of becoming the country’s shopping center as there are also a rising number of international brands penetrating our local market scene,” said Luz Bitang, Shop Cebu Committee chairperson.

“We have more participants this year because we have tapped more hotels, spas and restaurants and we have invited people from Visayas, Mindanao and domestic and foreign tourists to join the event,” Bitang added.

According to Rosita Jose, marketing manager of Metro Gaisano and member of Shop Cebu committee, “Cebu now ranks second – next to Manila – in terms of number of shoppers, because we already cater to people coming from all regions of the country as well as domestic and foreign tourists.”

Not only because of Cebu market’s fair and reasonable prices, but also the city’s safe environment and the presence of most of the international brands here that continues to attract more shoppers and tourists from all over the country.

“Items you see outside the country are already here in the City,” Jose revealed.

“We hope that Cebuanos will do their shopping here instead of going to Singapore or Hong Kong,” said Luz Bitang.

Shop Cebu bags containing promo collaterals from participating malls will also be distributed to major hotels in the city.

Catch the simultaneous three-day mallwide sales at SM City Cebu, Ayala Center Cebu, Metro Gaisano stores, Paseo Nine Yards Night Market, Robinson’s Place, and Colonnade Supermarket.
