The Spa at Cebu turns 1!

THE grand entrance of The Spa at Cebu is reminiscent of the hotel resorts and spa centers in Krabi and Phuket. The steps with leaf design lead to the receiving area where one is greeted by amiable, smiling faces clad in simple Asian-inspired uniforms.

Johnny Siao, the man behind the success of The Spa at Cebu, gave me a tour of the place and described each area with so much enthusiasm. As someone who has been in the spa business for 10 years, the guy is really passionate on what he does and is well-versed on the topic of spa management. Yes, he knows the best way to pamper his customers with utmost satisfaction.

As I took a glimpse of each room, I noticed that no detail has been overlooked. The Thai-inspired interiors are adorned with interesting displays of paintings, wooden carvings, and other exquisite Asian-inspired figurines.

Soothing pipe-in music fills every corner and the ambience is a balancing act of vibrance and serenity.

The spa boasts of a 100-plus bed facility with a separate area for men and women, and couple’s lounges. You can’t miss their indoor and outdoor spa.

The outdoor spa is where one can embrace nature while relaxing on top of the line Tylo Jacuzzis.

Aside from nicely decorated rooms, the place is also equipped with a function room for meetings, and a special room created for spa lovers who wish to hold a party while having their massage. Plus, it also houses two five-star, hotel-like deluxe suite rooms where guests can spend overnight and enjoy the facilities plus a complimentary one-hour aroma therapy massage for two.

And here are some tidbits.

Did you know that their beds, Jacuzzis and other shower systems are equipped with anti-bacterial components? Talk about the art of cleanliness!

And for groups who want to go to the spa and need transportation, The spa has a fleet of vehicles to pick up their guests. Talk about service level! And as an added feature, the spa actually has an outdoor swimming pool. Talk about total relaxation! Amazing, isn’t it?

Assorted treatments which offer ultimate indulgence is what this spa is all about. You can choose from the spa menu a wide variety of body pampering.

The services include The Spa at Cebu deluxe massage; the traditional Philippine hilot, which originated as a form of therapeutic traditional folk medicine; lomi lomi, which was derived from the ancient Polynesians and from the master healers of Hawaii where two people massage in tandem; the famous Swedish and shiatsu; Thai; jet lag; and aromatherapy massages.

Immerse yourself, too, in paraffin treatments, foot massage, water therapy (i.e. floral, aroma and milk baths), body scrubs, body wrap therapies and facials which use Germine de Capuccini – a Spanish brand notably known for its expert skin care products.

As you bask under the magical hands of the massage therapists, you feel relaxed. The strokes come in a continuous and unified flow and totally melts away all tension. You’ll definitely feel refreshed and light afterwards. Not surprising because the therapists are all certified professionals and had been sent to massage training centers in Thailand. There is also a master trainer from China who taught the therapists foot massage the Chinese way.

Just remember that whatever type of body pampering you opt for, the Spa at Cebu will never disappoint you. As Spa at Cebu turns one, expect more full featured services to come! Truly relaxation at its finest!
