Firm mulls more stores

A home-grown construction supply company plans to open two bran-ches to answer the needs of its growing number of customers.

“We’re planning to open a Cebu Home and Builders Centre (CHBC) in the north area by 2009 and by mid-2008, we’ll be extending in the south,” said Michael Co, CHBC chief executive officer during the company’s 5th anniversary celebration at the Casino Filipino, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel last Tuesday.

He also revealed that CHBC will renovate its Lapu-Lapu City branch and other outlets in the country. CHBC has outlets in Ortigas and Makati.

He said CHBC has been getting “good response” from customers, a phenomenon that can be attributed to its “non-discriminating” value of products.

Five years after the company’s founding, Co said CHBC’s strength is based on four “core values” — “place, price, product and people.”

With these, CHBC ensures not only the quality of products but also competitiveness of prices, he said.

“We have a price variety for the A, B and C (high-, middle- and low-end) market. We don’t (cater) to one level of a market class without compromising the quality,” Co said. “It’s a store for everybody.”

He said CHBC also focuses on product value by offering international brands. (TEP)
