SM City dangles brand new cars in bowling tilt

OVER P6 million in prizes will be at stake in the multi-level 7th SM Bowling Cup which started last June 12 and will last through May 25, 2008 with three different national tourneys featured in the event.

The three national finals scheduled in Manila are the Gatorade National Finals on Sept. 16, which dangles a Nissan Sentra and over P250,000 to the top 25 bowlers; the Lipton National Finals on Jan. 27, 2008, with another Nissan Sentra and over P250,000 to the top 25 bowlers to be doled out; and the Pepsi Grand National Finals on May 25, 2008, which will hand out a Nissan X-Trail and over P260,000 to the top 25 bowlers.

A total of 10 playing dates have been set for the SM Cebu Monthly Center Finals, which is a qualifying event for the SM Bowling Cup.

These are July 8, Aug. 5, Sept. 2, Oct 7, Nov. 4, Dec. 2, Jan. 6, 2008, Feb. 24, March 30 and April 27.

The top 30 bowlers after each qualifying periods will play on the Center Finals where the top three players will receive P12,000, P6,000 and P4,000 cash, respectively.

Last year, 16-year-old Cebuano bet John Gasataya was crowned the 6th SM Cup Bowling king. Gasataya received an SUV Isuzu Crosswind.

The three national finals is a three-day elimination series where the top 40 center qualifiers from SM Fairview, SM North Edsa, SM Mall of Asia, SM Cebu and SM Megamall will see action in the first day.

The top 20 bowlers will then advance to the second day, where they will be pitted against the top 20 players of the other bowling centers.

In the third day, the top 30 mixed bowlers will advance to get the championship title. (JSV)
