Saturday, June 23, 2007 Lapu City Hall casual held for drugs, pushing
THE Lapu-Lapu City Police arrested a City Hall job-order employee and filed charges for drug pushing and possession of illegal drugs against him yesterday.
Two policemen allegedly bought a pack of shabu from Jesus Pijaña Rosaceña, 37, and upon his arrest recovered more shabu in his possession. The married employee works for City Hall’s Clean and Green program.
PO2 Jupiter Nurab and PO2 Romeo Cabras Jr., who acted as poseur-buyer and back-up, bought a pack of shabu from the suspect for P100 at 11:30 a.m. last Wednesday in Sitio Humay-Humay, Barangay Gun-ob.
Shabu
After drugs and money changed hands, other police operatives closed in and arrested the suspect.
When they frisked him, they found nine more packs of shabu, the P100 buy-bust money and P200 cash.
But Rosaceña denied that he deals drugs. He said he was washing clothes that time, as his wife left him.
Cabras said the suspect was placed under surveillance for more than a week until they confirmed his illegal trade.
He said Rosaceña uses his laundry as a cover-up for his drug dealings.
Meager salary
“How can the suspect maintain an apartment and a good life for his five children if he only relies on his meager salary as a job-order employee?” said Nurab.
Rosaceña is detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police stockade, awaiting his transfer to the city jail. (OCP)
