Speak out: Barangay polls
By Joseph M. soriano
N. Bacalso Ave., Cebu City

I AM a resident of Barangay Basak, Cebu City.

I consider myself as belonging to the silent majority as a voter.

Pinoy Votes: Sun.Star Election 2007 Coverage

I read a news item last June 13, 2007 stating that Rep. Eduardo Gullas has filed a bill postponing the barangay elections to October next year, citing expenses that the government will have to bear.

This move is certainly depriving the constituents (silent majority) of the right to choose their representatives in the barangay level by delaying it over and over again.

I hope congressmen will not allow this bill to pass into law.
