Cebu company presents products with minerals

THE body has a way of healing itself but it is better if one did something to prevent himself from getting sick. On this dictum, a Cebu-based company is promoting wellness products like mineral drops and a “healing” soap.

Now on its second year, Geffen Health Products Wellness Inc. hopes to develop the public’s appreciation for complementary medicine.

“There are a lot of illnesses that are hard to understand or diagnosed. That’s why we offer a holistic approach to keeping our bodies healthy and clean,” Dr. Wilma Arboleda, Geffen’s wellness consultant, said in an interview.

Geffen general manager Vicenta Limyuka said the company did a research on its products and has found them to be suitable for daily use and intake. It holds office at the PDI Condominium in Banilad, Cebu city.

Among its core products are Dulse, Gamila Healing Soap, Grape Seed Oil Extract, Geffen Coffee, Geffen Choco and CMD Plus. Geffen also sells hair and skin products, many of them made from Dead Sea minerals, that it is importing from Israel.

Limyuka said the products are not cheap but they bring health benefits to their users. She said, however, that these are not to be made substitutes for prescription medicines.

Arboleda said that as a wellness doctor, she does not diagnose health illnesses but suggests another way to keep one’s health less bad than it is.

Geffen offers products that promote wellness and CMD Plus and the Gamila Healing Soap are among the bestsellers, she said.

CMD Plus, which derives its name from concentrated mineral drops, is a good re-energizer. A few drops into a glass of drinking water can get one out of lethargy, she said.

To illustrate her point, Arboleda compared the body to that of a cellular phone. During the course of the day, the body can get tired, just like a cell phone that is about to go on low battery. Like a cell phone, the body needs to be re-charged to function properly again. CMD Plus can be that charger for the body, Arboleda said.

The potency of CMD Plus can be attributed to its mineral ingredients having been extracted from the Dead Sea, she said.

The Gamila soap, which can be used like an ordinary bath soap, is best for treating skin conditions since it has 673 “active components,” Arboleda said. It is expensive but a bar can last for three months, she said.

She stressed, however, that uch of good health still comes from a balanced diet and lifestyle and a positive mental attitude. (MPS)
