Saturday, June 30, 2007 Talk back: Remembering scouting By Invicto C. alcantara
(THE letter is addressed to Godofredo M. Roperos)
I came across your column on scouting in Cebu (June 9, 2007).
I was active in the scouting movement in the 6th decade, Cebu Council, BSP as a volunteer scoutmaster and elementary school principal, Bureau of Public Schools (BPS) from 1948-1975.
From 1976-1992, I transferred to the BSP Council until I was compulsorily retired at age 60.
I was assistant and later full-fledged scout executive of the Cebu Council and was then a professional during which I had the opportunity to attend the national conferences and jamborees.
I attended the 10th Boy Scout World Jamboree in Mt. Makiling in 1959.
I am aware that we were contemporaries in the BPS in 1948.
