THE richest billiard tournament in the south—the 2007 Sun.Star Superbalita 9-Ball Challenge—will formally open this Saturday at the Gaisano Bowlingplex Billiards Hall with the elementary division contest.
On its fourth year, the Sun.Star Superbalita 9-ball offers close to P400,000 in cash prizes to all the winners with the Open Division getting the biggest share of the prize money.
JJ Neri, the vice president for Marketing of Sun.Star will open the tournament with a short talk and will also do the ceremonial break.
The elementary division is scheduled on July 7 and 8, while the high school division will be on July 14 and 15. The Class B tournament is on July 21 and 22. All three divisions will at the Gaisano Bowlingplex. The much-awaited clash of the billiard masters in the Open Division will be on July 28 and 29 at the SM City Trade Hall.
Discount
Registration in each division will fall on the first day of each division’s play dates. A 50 percent discount will be given to the player who can present five Sun.Star or Superbalita mastheads.
The games are presented by Globe TM and Bagong Touch Mobile, SkyGo Motors, Jimm’s 5-in-1 Coffee Mix, Isuzu Mandaue, Chris Sports, Erg Alcotonic, Star Paper and Going Bananas.
