Saturday, July 07, 2007 Sun.Star Superbalita 9-ball opens today with elementary division
THE BIGGEST billiard tournament in the south, the 2007 Sun.Star Superbalita 9-Ball Challenge, will officially break today with the developmental Elementary Division competition at the Gaisano Bowlingplex Billiards Hall.
Now on its fourth year, the Sun.Star Superbalita 9-ball offers P400 thousand in cash prizes to the winners, with the Open Division getting the lion’s share of P160,000 for the champion.
Sun.Star vice president for marketing JJ Neri will open the tournament with a short talk and the ceremonial break.
Following the elementary division battle is the High School level competition next Saturday and Sunday, also to be played at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.
Registration in each division will fall on the first day of the tournament. A 50 percent discount will be given to the player who can present five Sun.Star or Superbalita mastheads.
The games are presented by Globe TM and Bagong Touch Mobile, SkyGo Motors, Jimm’s 5-in-1 Coffee Mix, Isuzu Mandaue, Chris Sports, Erg Alcotonic, Star Paper and Going Bananas.
