Four Pinoys make cut in 10th ASC

FOUR Filipino bets made the cut for the Masters Event yesterday in the 10th Asian Schools Championships bowling tournament in Hong Kong.

Cebuano Jomar Jumapao, Jose Collins and Kenneth Chua joined the top 16 qualifiers in the boys’ All Events Masters, while Marjorie Anne Reyes emerged as the lone carrier of the RP flag in the distaff side.

Jumapao, who fell 12 pins short of bagging the bronze medal in the singles event, placed fifth in the Masters Event qualifiers’ list after he tallied 1,284 pinfalls in the singles, 1,256 pinfalls in the double and 628 pins in the team event for a total of 3,168 and an average of 211.20.

The All Events race is the combination of the scores in the singles, doubles and team events.

Collins, for his part, is at the 10th spot with his overall score of 3,080 and an average of 205.33 per game, while Chua is at 12th with a total output of 3,032 and an average of 202.13.

Reyes, on the other hand, is at third in the girls’ All Events qualifiers list with her total score of 2,463 and average of 205.25. (JSV)
