May I point out, as I did during your interview, that in my entire career, and according to those who filed a case against me, I have officiated only 78 marriages.
In contrast, one of the judges who has been suspended, officiated 2,105 marriages in 2004 alone and 498 marriages from January to February 2005. All of my colleagues, with the exception of Judge Monalila Tecson, have officiated more marriages.
Please note also that evidence relevant to the current investigation was submitted in 2005, so it is hardly fair to say that the action of the Chief Justice showed some “pre-judgment” on his part. Neither did I send the Chief Justice any letter that “triggered the investigation.” All my communication with the Supreme Court had been official in nature.
